Returning products bought through TikTok Shop is about to become easier for many U.S. shoppers.
UPS has signed an exclusive agreement with TikTok Shop to provide a no-box, no-label return system for eligible purchases.
Customers will be able to bring products to nearly 10,000 participating return locations rather than printing a shipping label, finding a box and preparing the package themselves. Reuters
The service uses Happy Returns, a UPS-owned returns platform.
The partnership reflects how important product returns have become to online retail.
According to figures cited by Reuters, approximately 20% of online retail sales are returned, while the value of industry returns reached around $850 billion in 2025. Reuters
That creates a major logistical challenge.
Retailers need to receive products quickly enough to inspect them, return suitable items to inventory and reduce the cost of handling individual parcels.
TikTok Shop has grown rapidly by combining influencer videos, livestream shopping and traditional e-commerce.
Major brands and retailers have increasingly experimented with the platform as social media and online shopping continue to merge.
Making returns easier could increase consumer confidence among people who are still hesitant to purchase products directly through social networks.
UPS is also using technology to address return fraud, including systems that help verify products before they move back through the supply chain.
For UPS, the agreement provides another opportunity to expand into higher-value logistics services rather than relying only on traditional parcel delivery.
For TikTok Shop, the partnership addresses one of the less glamorous but most important parts of e-commerce: what happens after a customer changes their mind.
